Tea, Rooibos

Rooibos is an excellent alternative and complement to tea.

Rich in anti-oxidants that combat cell aging, it has been credited with numerous beneficial effects on digestion, sleep and allergies. Rooibos remains a healthy, tasty beverage, ideal for the evening. Virtually tannin- and theine-free, it has very little astringency and is never bitter, even when steeped for long periods. It's an ideal drink for the whole family, including pregnant women, and a great introduction to the world of tea for children . Its slightly sweet flavor makes it an excellent base for fragrant blends.

Rooibos can be prepared in the traditional way with milk, but is also very good plain. Infused hot or cold, it's delicious with lemon or a few verbena leaves!
